What is Fat Freeze?

Fat freeze (Cryolipoysis) is a non-invasive treatment used to reduce unwanted fat by using near sub zero temperatures to kill the fat cells without damaging the surrounding tissues and nerves.

How does it work?

The Fat Freeze handle is applied to the treatment area targeted for fat loss. Vacuum suction lifts the target area in the cups. Skin Dedication’s device warms the area first to increase blood circulation for maximum benefits of cooling without the risk of stiffness and bruising.

When fat cells are subjected to being cooled below body temperature, the freezing causes the fat cells to die followed by local inflammatory response. Dead fat cells are then eliminated via the lymphatic system.

How soon can I see the results from Cryolipolysis (Fat Freezing)?
You may see results after 2-4 weeks but the full results will be seen after 8-12 weeks. You are invited back for a complimentary follow up appointment of Ultrasonic Cavitation and Radio Frequency to maximise your results week 2 after your Cryolipolysis treatment. We would also like you to return at week 12 for final measurements and photos.

How many treatments can I have?
Many patients find that only one Cryolipolysis treatment is required, however this is dependent upon the thickness of the fat, your goals and budget.

Can I have more than one area treated if I pay?
Yes, two areas can be treated in one session; we will assess suitability in your consultation to ensure the lymph glands are not individually overwhelmed.

How often can I have further Cryolipolysis treatments?
Fat freezing can be repeated in the same area, preferably waiting approximately 4-5 weeks between sessions to give enough time to measure the effectiveness of the initial treatment. It is recommended that you team the Cryolipolysis with Ultrasonic Cavitation and Radio Frequency for maximum results. Everyone is individual so we can discuss the best personal treatment plan for you. You may have a further treatment in a different area(s) after one week.

Is the fat reduction permanent?
Yes, the fat cells are destroyed permanently. We advise you to maintain a healthy lifestyle as you can get new fat cells.

How long is a treatment?
The treatment including photos and measurements is normally about an hour and a half to one hour and 45 minutes. A portion of your consultation can be done separately to cut down your treatment time.

What would happen if I had Cryolipolysis during my period?
This is not advisable as it would feel uncomfortable.

You must wait a minimum of 3 months after normal birth of your baby or a minimum of 6 months after C section. We will require your GP’s confirmation.

Do I have to rest after Cryolipolysis treatment?
No, you can go about your day as normal. We advise you to increase your water intake to at least 2 litres a day to assist with the fat removal.

Is Cryolipolysis safe if a woman has a fitted contraception coil?
Yes this is not a contra-indication. (A reason why we would not be able to go ahead with the treatment)

Please consult your GP before the treatment if you have any of the following: Heart Disease, Liver Disease, Pace Maker, High Blood Pressure, Asthma, Deep Vein Thrombosis, Cancer, Hemophilia, Blood Clotting Disorders, Pregnancy, Metal Implants, Oedema, Eczema, Psoriasis, Immune Disorders – Lupus/HIV/Aids

Is there an age limit?
Yes, we are unable to provide Cryolipolysis to anyone under the age of 18.

What can I do at home to help with treatments?
Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol after your treatment. Try and increase your heart rate by doing some exercise for best results and avoid too many carbohydrates.

Will people know that I’ve had Cryolipolysis?
The treatment is non-invasive so there are no scars and you won’t have to take time off work to recover. We are fully committed to ensure your privacy is maintained at all times. They may however notice your fat reduction.
